St. Mary, Star of the Sea 11th Annual Fall Festival
DATE: Our 11th Annual Fall Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 26 from 11am - 6pm, please mark your calendar.
RAFFLE: A Fall Festival Committee member will be outside the church after each weekend mass to distribute raffle tickets and collect money and stubs for any that you might have sold. Please help us in selling as many raffle tickets as you can as this is our largest source of fundraising for our Fall Festival. Winners will be drawn around 5:45 pm under the big tent on the day of our festival. Winners do not have to be present to win. Winners not present will be contacted via the telephone number on their ticket on Sunday or Monday after the Festival.
BANDS: We plan on having a stage with four bands again this year. If you would like to help sponsor a band for a $200 donation, please contact Dee Dee Weber at 361-790-3217 or John Mullenax at 361-205-7127.
BINGO: We will be playing bingo again this year in the Parish Hall for just $1 a card per game. If you would like to volunteer to help or would like to donate a prize, please contact Penny Gonzales at 361-205-4224
SILENT AUCTION: If you would like to donate an item for the silent auction, please contact Cynthia Vasquez at 361-758-2662 with what the item will be and a recommended starting bid.
RUMMAGE SALE: If you have any used toys, furniture, nick-nacks, tools, appliances, clean clothing items, etc., in good condition and would like to donate please contact Penny Gonzales at 361-205-4224.
COSTUME CONTEST: Children up to 12 years old can participate in our Costume Contest. The Judging will occur between 1:00pm and 1:30pm in front of the parish hall on the day of the Festival. Judges will select one winner in each category for the Most Creative, Scariest, and Prettiest costume. Each winner will receive a trophy and a $25 gift card.
PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST: We will supply the pumpkins and material to decorate. Table will be set up in front of parish hall. Judging will be conducted between 2:30pm and 3:00pm. Pumpkins will be judged in three age groups 3-8 years with adult supervision, 9-12 years and 13-19 years. A winner will be selected in each age group and receive a trophy and $25 gift card. Participates are encouraged to take their pumpkin home after judging.
KIDS GAMES AND ACTIVITIES: All kids’ games and activities will be free. Each booth with a kids’ game will provide some type of prize for each participate.
FOOD BOOTHS: We are seeking for parishioners to sponsor a food booth. Tent, table and chairs are provided. Food both sponsors will prepare food items and sell them on the day of the festival. If a food booth sponsor needs assistance with the purchase of the ingredients for foods to be prepared and sold, please contact a Fall Festival Committee Member. Tickets will be sold $1 each at the ticket booth. Food Booth Sponsor will collect tickets at the food both for the purchase of food sold at the Festival. At the end of the Festival, a Fall Festival Committee member will collect tickets from your booth. All proceeds from all food booths will be donated to the church.
